Not for Nothing

Alleppey , the quaint little town, is full of them.
Waterways.
Canals.
Waterfront.
A riot of colours.
Lovely gondolas...

Soft spoken Mallus offering you a boat ride....
Soft spoken, but hard-core business men.
Astronomical prices quoted calls for hard bargaining.

But, I have had my share of boat ride, for now.
Now I itch to walk along the canals soaking in the local atmosphere.
This place must be an inspiration for budding artists and trigger-happy photographers.

Take along a sketch book and a pencil when you  go there.
And, a nice Cam.
While you are whetting your creative appetite,
Pay adequate attention to the wife... lest she push you into the water.
It is not so clean.

Oh, I almost forgot.
Make sure you have a spare memory card.

Not for nothing is this place called the Venice of the East.

  1. As you glide along the canal
Trees and water in a play of light
Only the sharp eye can capture
    A scene of cool delight
