Road to Munnar

Fog disrupted flight on 26th Dec. So, we drove from Kochi to Munnar in the dark and missed the views.
Then, the taxis went on strike on 29th. Which meant that we had to start from Munnar at daybreak to make it to Alleppey and the house-boat before we were waylaid.
That meant not enough time to soak in the wondeful drive back to Kochi.
However, we did stop for tea at one of the waterfalls on the way...
Aruna and I enjoying the  tea...

The waterfall holds centrestage here...
Some college kids on their way to a weekend at Munnar too stopped to take some pictures....

There are more such sights.. spice gardens, thick forests, wild bamboo, lovely villages... all along the way.
This drive is meant be taken at a leisurely pace savoring all that the countryside has to offer.
so, keep a day for the drive.
It is worth it.
Next time, I too will.
