A Short, Open Letter to M F Hussain

Dear Hussain sahib,

It is a little late in the day to tell you this, I guess.

You are a brilliant painter, no doubt.

But, you have annoyed a lot of people in your lifetime.

First, you painted Saraswati and Laxmi in the buff, and annoyed lot of
hot-blooded saffron-robed gentlemen.

Then, you painted Madhuri and other Bollywood muses, sufficiently clothed, and annoyed lot of hot-blooded jean-clad gentlemen.

Now that you have reached your heavenly abode, due to an oversight on part of the Grand Jury, please take care to keep your X-ray vision in check.

Paint, if you must, but be a little aware of the sensibilities of those cloud-dwellers.

If you annoy the Gods, they can take away those tubes of paint and your gaint sized brush.

If you can still afford it, please get yourself a PR agent.

Oh, that reminds me, you really annoyed me by buying yourself a Bugatti Veyron!

As a measure of revenge of your annoying ways, I have  sketched you wearing RSS shorts.....

and something you did not wear in your life time.....

a pair of glossy highly-polished shoes.

Al vida, Fida.

  1. Lipstick and high heeled shoes would have served him right. That this wasn't done in his lifetime is my only beef.

  2. Nice work.
Anyway, I have never understood the world, of art and painting.
I saw those controversial nude paintings, on the web and was neither impressed nor offended as I just did not (and still do not ) understand this medium,

    Regards
    GV
