Till a few years back, my photographs did not include people. Travel photos essentially consisted of landscapes and city scapes. Even in the street photos I took, people were incidental.
I do not know when the transition happened and how. People came to be the central theme in many of my photos.
I was not satisfied in shooting people on the sly, they had to look at the lens and smile. They had to reveal their soul.
Sometimes, the pics clicked. Many times, they did not.
But, each and every portrait that I took, gave me a strange satisfcation.
I realized it was not the satisfaction of capturing them in the camera.
It was the satisfaction of interacting, knowing and exchanging precious moments of our lives.
It was knowing that what was captured was not an expression, but an experience.
Ladies and Gentlemen.... featuring.... the beautiful people of Himachal.
