Kuch Khas hai Hauz Khas mein...

Never met Mr. Allauddin Khilji. But, he is someone to shake hands with.
He dug up the Hauz Khas lake in the 13th century.
It still is one of the most beautiful locales in Delhi.

Then came another gentleman with grand designs, called Mr. Feroz Shah Tuglaq, who built the Madrasa or the University near the lake. He also erected the Ashoka Pillar at the Qutab Minar- maybe uprooted from some other location, besides providing land at Feroz Shah Kotla to posterity and BCCI for an idlers' game called cricket.

To top it all, the Village near the complex is a melting pot of culture... or for the gastronomically inclined... the melting pot of agriculture.

It is quaint. it is cool. it houses boutiques, design houses, art shops- selling old books and old hindi film posters. There is some graffiti on the walls. and then, there is food!!
scrumptuous food. finger licking food.

This is where the 13th century rubs shoulders with the 21st. and, the result is delightful. Kuch Khas hai...
