Gotipua

I was walking to the pastry shop at Mayfair Lagoon, Bhubaneswar,  when I saw few kids take to the stage.

The dance was a mixture of acrobatic poses and graceful movements.

It took me some time to realize that these were boys.

and what they were performing was the traditional dance which originated around the 16th century- called the Gotipua.

The famous odissi dance has originated from this art form.
