There are two places of worship in Old Delhi that are located next to each other.
One is called Karims.
They have a flaw. They serve "Mix Vegetable". It is Aloo-Mutter-Tumator curry. They somehow manage to make even that stuff mouth-watering-ly appealing.
But, being equipped with a small appetite, I decided to reserve my onslaught for the Tandoori fish.
It came charcoal grilled, whole and brushed with some unknown spies.
It was crispy on the outside and fluffy smooth on the inside.
No two ways about it- The best Tandoori fish I have tasted.
Ever.
High Priest of Mughlai - I salute thee!
The other is called Jama Masjid.
Made on a mound in the 17th Century by Shahjahan, the guy who also commissioned the Taj and the Red fort, its high minarets make interesting observatories for viewing the city.
But, I got my best view from the Gate No.1 as I stood there to scribble on the moleskine.
I am willing to make a decent bet that Karims had a big hand in me getting it right.
After all, only contented stomachs lead to contented souls.
and, contented souls lead to contented sketching.
